Many people make the mistake of believing the Bible says, “You shall not kill,” and seek to apply this command to war. However, the Bible actually says, “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). The Hebrew word literally means “the intentional, premeditated killing of another person with malice.”
It is an error to say that God never supports a war. Jesus is not a pacifist. In a world filled with evil people, sometimes a war is necessary to prevent even greater evil. If Hitler had not been defeated by World War II, how many more millions of Jews would have been killed? If the Civil War had not been fought, how much longer would African Americans have had to suffer as slaves? We must all remember to base our beliefs of the Bible, not on our emotions (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

It is major sin to kill for no reason unless it has to be done for your own defence or in capacity of enforcing the law one has to kill the murderer on the command of authorities.
One can kill in war of defence. War to occupy country of other nations to use their resources without purchasing is major sin and each individual who is killing innocent people in such a war will be responsible what his hand do. All involved in such offences will face severe punishment on the Day of Judgment and that could be hell fire too.

That is an inaccurate translation, "Kill". The commandment is actually "Thou Shall Not Murder". Big difference, really, because if you read the Old Testament battles, thousands were being killed, but that is the cost of war. Focus then on interpretation of the word, murder as opposed to kill. When is it right to murder? Never. When is right to kill, to protect your family, to save someone, to save yourself (mabye). Think of it that way.

the original text of the bible uses different words to describe kill and war, but that is irrelivant. yes killing is a terrible thing but at time it is neccesary in order to protect. protect you life or the lives of others. revenge and equivalency are wrong, they do not qualify as times when you need to protect.

The commandment is 'Thou shalt not commit murder.'
Killing in self-defense is justifiable. Killing in war is necessary. Killing as a means of punishment by a society is debatable. None of them is murder.

In most cases yes. Sometimes, in extreme situations it is appropriate to take a life but in most cases the answer is no.

It's only wrong to kill needlessly; you have to kill in order to survive, which is the hypocrasy of life.
