Site A

-45 mins away
-large room that can fit up to 300--very nice decor/up-to date
-cocktail hour, open bar, 4-course sit down dinner. Dessert
-Use of bridal suite
-Linens, Flower Centerpieces and Wine at each table is included.
Cost: $70 a person

Site B

-25 mins away
-room fits 150
-cocktail hour, open bar, 2-courses sit down dinner. No Cake provided
-No bridal suite
-Silk Floral Centerpieces included.
-No modern attire (not a horrible place. But, a little early 90's New Jersey style wedding decor)
Cost: $65 a person.

Site A is very well known for it's elegant ambiance and excellent food. It's a big far, but it's a good deal with LOTs for food. I'm just worried if there is any traffic 45min could be over an hour.

Site B is OK if you get to use a large room. We have 130 guests. So, we get the smaller room. I'm worried the food will be thin-especially with only 2-courses. But, it's closer.

Thoughts.

Really now, 25 extra minutes to drive is *not* that bad at all! I'd go for the nicer place...especially since it's only $5 more a person.

I'd go for site A, I don't think you'd regret it.

Good luck :)

Is this your reception area and are you coming from your ceremony? Are you taking pictures right after the ceremony? If so, then site A is perfectly fine since you'll be taking some time taking your pictures. It'll give people time to mingle during cocktail hour. All weddings I've been to, there's always a good hour or two of waiting until the bride and groom arrives for the reception so it's actually the norm. Congratulations!

Site A without a doubt, from the sound of it its the one you prefer and cost isnt much different. 45mins isnt really that far for your friends and family to drive to c u on the most special day of your life. maybe u should check out some local motels in the area so people dont have 2 drive home on that night

I would go with site A. I estimated only 120 for my wedding, but it seems to grow as more people are coming than expected and we have a few friends of our parents we didn't initially consider. *_* Also with all the photos you want something really nice. The bridal suite is really nice to have for photos as well as just to relax in. lots of people have to FLY hours to a wedding 1 hr won't be bad as long as the venue is nice, and it seems like this is.

Go for the nicer place. You won't regret it, and your guests will have a better time since more is being offered to them. I'm assuming that the distance is between ceremony site and reception site- just make sure you have a good window between the two and you'll be fine.

Wow....Definitely site A. You are getting so much more and for only $5/person more!!

It's only 20 more minutes....who cares? It sounds really nice and by the time people get there and see how nice it is....they will forget about the drive.

I definitely vote for site A!

Good luck with your decision!

get a room at site A for the night before the wedding and then you won't have to worry about driving at all the day of the wedding.

Definately the first one, A...it's worth the drive. You want to remember it as one of the best nights of your life, not as a 1992 New Jersey big hair Poision perfume wanabe . .. Yikes!!
