How do I go about doing this? What steps must I take? Are there any specific requirements?
I am just looking for some time alone with God, and maybe some time of fasting. Not looking for much social interaction at all.

Call one....talk to the retreat director...make an appointment and go.
But please, have the common decency to call it a "convent" and not a "nunnery".
