Ok she signed up for reserves with about a 12K bonus but she is thinking of switching to active when she gets home from AIT. Will she loose her bonus or have to pay it back?

if the Bonus was tied to her being a Reservist, than she forfeits it completely. She may not qualify for a Bonus for going Active.
Also, she may not be allowed to Go Active . her Reserves Unit would have to cut her loose, and if they need her, they will not sign off on it.

She will lose her bonus but will get an active duty bonus.

it all depends what is in her contract, did she get all of it at once or did she get half? it really depends, she should ask she ut or ua
