Muslim women pierce their ears and paint their bodies (mostly their limbs) with Henna.
As for tattoos, I would think it would be something that would need to be given a fatwa by Muslim scholars. I don't know what the ruling is on it, but I can do some research and get back to you...

Piercing is allowed in islam whereas permanent tattoos is haraam(forbidden)

of course!! i have quite a few piercings on my ears and my belly button..
tatoos are controversial, but i believe theyre okay to get.
