I've never seen such blatant disrespect, ever. It's awful some of the things I read on here, especially when it comes to people searching for psychics. You get the people who don't believe in the supernatural, yet are completely fine to force their religions on you. Seriously, it's disgusting. If people feel the need to reach out in the ways of pyschics, let them.

These people have the capacity to put faith in something, yet cannot seem to accept that other people put their faith in something else, and treat them like scum.

I'm appalled, really. Does anyone else feel the same?

Wow! So many replies! It makes me smile! I'm glad to see so many people have so many opinions (akin and varying to my own.)
I just wish to clarify, that I was using this (the pyschic thing) as an example. I'm sure in a lot of the other forums you will find the same thing. When I say disrespect, in no way do I imply it as supporting what you are saying. I guess, the things that bother me is the people who cannot be bothered to put anymore then 'they aren't real, so shut up and stop being so stupid.' You could say you personally don't believe in them, and state why...constructively. You don't need to be rude.

Maybe I am foolish for not expecting the flamers, the close minded people, but it still makes me feel...I don't know, hurt and offended for the people they decided they'd be cruel to.

Thanks for your time, I love hearing what you have to say! <3

Because they're too closed minded to realize that they're disrespecting someone, and that the world doesn't revolve around them, therefore, they say whatever they want, and try to make other people think like them...I hate 'em.

I don't mind when people voice their opinions, but when they say it in a way that their pushing their ideas onto others, then that pisses me off.
I agree. There's always going to be someone who disagrees with you for whatever reason, it's those who tell you that "you're wrong" who need to shut their mouths. Nobody thinks alike, and these people just don't seem to get that, unfortunately. =/

I think there is no reason to treat people with disrespect. However, I think belief in psychics and the supernatural (including religions) is foolish. Having faith in something is not something to respect (This by no means condones showing disrespect, however). Placing faith in something means you have no good reason to believe in it. If you had a good reason, you would have no reason for faith. Moreover, people should find productive ways to deal with issues in their life. Seeking a psychic is not dealing with something.

Under no circumstances should a person be treated like 'scum'. In all honesty I think I just skip over these types of posts.

Then again, perhaps you find offense in this post. I hope what I've done is expressed and supported my opinion. I think that is what this forum is all about.

i know your pain.

people are (generally) very stupid and too thickheaded. The ability to understand concepts doesn't equal wisdom, the ability to understand things and accept that you might be wrong and others have just as much chance at being right is wisdom... and there are very , very few wise people in this world.

To be fair though, Y! answers isn't the best place to look for psychics. if you do it here you're *GOING* to get flamed. It's like licking an exposed cable, sure you may be fine... but you'll probably get zapped

my advice is go to paranormal forums around the internet, gods know there're enough of them.

I do! I so agree with you, and I thank you for being brave enough to make a stand! I wish we could use this forum to learn and communicate freely. I notice anytime someone has an honest question on any subject, they get attacked. It ends up with only the brave or the stupid asking questions. You and everyone else has a RIGHT to your beliefs!

We the Humans are more capable if we get out of this faith and religious bindings. God is not powerless that if he wants to send us a to-do list .. he will have to send some messanger who has to fight for his life all the time. But I guess that is not what he wanted to do.

So stop blaming others and look at our own self.... we were all born brilliant but our upbringing made us all dumb.

I think is is not just disrespect it is not know what they are talking about. No one should assume that they have the answer to life. Everyone comes from different backgrounds. I try to be respectful and listen but it does not mean that I will accept what they believe. I have my own believes and understandings.

not me. sorry, but I think everyone here has fair chance to voice their views on religion or lack of. It is an open line for fair debate. I don't see any body trying to force anything on anyone. Only appeal their own beliefs. Their are chat lines and so on for Christians only. But it is good I think to see other opinions and ideas. But really the choice is yours where to surf.

I just don't see how R & S relate to psychics. Also voiceing ones opinion is not forceing religion. It's just that, opinions. As such they should be taken with a grain of salt. Forcing your religion would be holding a shotgun to your head yelling convert or die!
