Cutting yourself is a way to feel real pain versus emotional pain, so you must talk to a therapist, or someone you can trust to share your pain with them. This is something that can't be handled alone. Medication helps, so be sure you be honest with your doctor, and ask for a recommendation to a psychiatrist. You won't have to go to the psychiatrist for a long time; only to get the right medication, because they are trained for medications and how to use them.
Cutting DOES NOT MEAN you have a mental condition, or anything of such nonsense. It is a sign of hurting, and nothing more. Don't let friends or others make you feel worse...you already feel bad. Get help, so that you can have a great life. You deserve it. Good luck.

I use to cut myself because I hurt. Also, I blamed myself alot when something would go wrong so I would cut myself. Do I think it's wrong? yes.....I believe there is a underlying issue that results in cutting. Talking to a social worker or someone that is experienced in pschology would shed more light than I can on this subject. Hope something I wrote helped.

It's not wrong. Cutting isn't about morality. Cutting is a symptom of an underlying problem. Just like no one would question the ethics of a person using a Kleenex to alleviate a cold, I believe no one should question the "rightness" of a person in turmoil feeling urged to express their unrest on their physical body.

Nope, it's not wrong, it's a way to cope. It's not the smartest thing, and for me, it helped a little, but caused more problems and didn't answer the things I needed it to.

If you cut, don't feel guilty about it, and you proabbly don't even have to tell anyone. Just stop if you can. If you can't try to find a better way to cope.

You can draw, or just have something hard to break.

I used to do that when I was a teenager.

1. You can get an infection that may even turn deadly.
2. You can get scars that won't go away.
3. You could accidently cut yourself too deep and bleed to death.

Personally, I get the same rush from eating hot peppers and it's a lot safer than cutting.

Ok, ill be the first to say this. Yes I think its bad, but it does help deal with emotion. I cute for four years. It's not always a sign that you're going to commit suicide, thats a commen misconception. Most people cut to feel emotion. Slitting your wrists is a form of suicide, but not all cutters want to commit suicide. To people who say cutters are crazy, no we're not. We just need help. Yes, we do it for a reason. Not all depressed people cut.

I am a cutter, and I have to say it is wrong, their are better ways for dealing with stress and anger. I/we need to figure out what works for us.

We are not crazy, we just need a little more help than others. I think people who say we are crazy, don't know about our struggles we are going through and saying we are crazy doesn't make us feel anybetter.

Yeah, I think it's wrong. I KNOW it's wrong. but sometimes, I think it's better than acting out against someone else. cus I rather hurt myself than hurt someone else. So it's like anger driven towards myself rather than at another person. But still, it's an unhealthy way to cope and can be bad for you both physically and emotionally.

No it's not wrong, it's a coping mechanism for people who don't know how to cope otherwise. It may not be the best way to handle it but for most cutters they will tell you it helps in ways that aren't always easy to explain.
