I feel the same way. I will hold my bulldog puppy in a blanket like a baby. You can tell he loves me and I obsessively love him! I give him treats, toys, blankets, etc. He is my spoiled baby. I love him more then anything! Literally! I love him! I feel the SAME way as you 100%
And to anyone who says their just dogs, that is EXTREMLY untrue. They are JUST LIKE PPEOPLE!

cats. If you find yourself involved in a relationship with one of these people, or if one of your children is allergic, you may find you have to make some very difficult choices. But rest assured, you don't necessarily have to give up your cat even if someone in your home is allergic. Here are some things you can do instead: Eliminate other allergens in the home. A bunch of minor allergens can add up to serious symptoms. Remove chemical air fresheners, wash your laundry with unscented products, avoid smoking in the house, and deal with any mold, dust, and mildew problems. Wash your hands and face after you have contact with a cat. Use a spray that destroys cat dander. These products can help to reduce the dander and saliva that cause allergic reactions. Rinse your cat twice a week in plain water and bathe her every two weeks. Use lukewarm water and a mild cat shampoo. Keep your cat out of the bedroom and don't let her sleep on your bed. Reduce the amount of carpet in your house, as carpets trap allergens of all kinds. Also, eliminate draperies and curtains. Choose the most dust-free litter you can find. Use in-room or central air purifiers with HEPA filtration. Vacuum as often as possible with a vacuum that has a HEPA filter. Follow with wet-mopping. Replace upholstered furniture with slipcovered pieces. It helps to be able to remove and wash furniture coverings. To destroy Fel d 1, the primary cat allergen, you need to wash your slipcovers in hot water (130 degrees F).

That is fine if that is the way you wish to treat your dog. Don't let anyone judge you it is in the end your decision. Everyone has their own opinion, when I read your question it made me smile I can see you holding it and cuddling it. There is no right answer it is all just opinions.

Our dog is our baby...each morning...my husband and I bring him in bed with us and we cuddle with him for a bit before we start our day. We love to buy him toys and spoil him with treats. It makes me sick to think about anything bad happening to him. I think it is completely normal! It has given me a bit of insight as to how my tough husband will soften up someday when we have kids too! haha!

No I don't see my dog as my baby...he is my dog. That is not to say that I am not attached to him - he is part of the family. But dogs need to be treated like dogs...not babies. And they do need to be taught nice doggy manners (ie not to jump on people, to walk well on lead etc). I find nothing more annoying than a dog with no manners.

My Pit Bull and my two kitties are like my children. I don't have kids, I just have pets. And my life revolves around my pets. I would do anything to keep them happy and healthy.
