I have to compulsively do things, unwanted thoughts pop into my mind (sometimes of aggression or violence), have to move things, check things, etc. I find it hard to relax...I find myself in a rush all the time when I shouldn't be. Sometimes I'm irritable. Thoughts and worries stick in my head like super glue...I can't get rid of them no matter what. I make myself sick thinking and worrying. I feel sort of sad a lot of times, I've lost interest in things, my life is bad, nothing can get better, etc. I sometimes think that everyone hates me...or is always talking about me or thinking bad things about me (like if someone looks at me while walking I'll ask myself "Do they think I'm weird? Ugly? etc.). Ya...one of the bigger things is the constant thoughts and worry in my mind...it just takes over my mind, the thoughts and worries just repeat themselves and I can't turn it off. Once I start thinking about something I can't stop. Someone will be talking and I won't hear them because...

..I'm too zoned out thinking about something else. It's really starting to get bad.

I also take criticism and what everyone says so harshly. And like I said...it makes me sick (blurred vision, twitching, stomach ache, tired).

I don't think bipolar or schizophrenic...my personality doesn't change (although I don't feel 100% myself), my mood changed slightly sometimes...but I have also seen someone in a manic phase of bipolar and that's not me. I was thinking OCD and Anxiety, with depression probably caused from the two. I already have a referall to a shrink...the waits just huge.

It sounds like you are suffering from OCD and anxiety. You worry, which is obsessive and you act upon it which is compulsive. It aggravates you these thoughts which are very nasty. And you worry that if you don't follow through on them, something detrimental will happen to you or someone else. Nothing will happen though and you know it. You hate these thoughts and just wish they would go away. Talk to a therapist and have him/her recommend a psychiatrist that can put you on the right medicines to combat the illness. You are not alone and I wish you the best of luck

To put it simply, you worry too much.

While this sounds glib, it is at least possible that you have Generalized Anxiety disorder, which, simply put, describes people who worry too much.

Almost everything else you describe can be commonly seen in people who worry too much, and does not sound like an indication that you are going crazy or that there is something terribly wrong with you other than the worry.

Glad to hear you have an appointment with a mental health practitioner. Just make sure you write down questions before hand, and insist on straight answers. It is much better to have a clinician admit "I don't know" than to have one who tries to feed you a lot of BS.

Sounds kinda normal we all have weird thoughts from time to time but having to do things like moving stuff sounds like OCD ( obsessive compulsive disorder) for which there is medication.

Talk to your doctor so he/she can help you. You are not the first or the last person to have this problem this is not unique just to you the doctor has heard this before from someone else I promise. Go get you some help life can get better.

You are going such a terrible thing right now. Sounds like your worrying is getting to be out of control. I wrote an article on whether someone is a worry wart or if they have GAD (generalized anxiety disorder). Maybe you could read this and see if it will shed some more light on what is going on. If you do have GAD then you will need to call your physician. He/She can refer you to a psychiatrist who will be able to evaluate you and decide if medication is needed. You can feel better and not worry so much.

OK, it sounds to me like you at LEAST have OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), and quite possibly other mental illnesses as well. (Don't feel like a freak; I have two myself.) You seriously need the help of a real psychiatrist, not just we the Yahoo crowd. Medication can help a LOT -- it has my panic disorder and PTSD well-controlled.

If you have a doctor, ask him/her for a referral. If you don't, browse the Yellow Pages for a shrink. If by some weird chance you live near Little Rock, Arkansas (USA), e-mail me and I'll send you the name of a good one.

Sounds like OCD more than anything else.

(Unwanted thoughts, checking things.)

OCD is form of anxiety disorder, and anxiety and depression go hand in hand.

I have almost memorized the DSM-IV (manual of mental disorders) for my job in mental health billing and coding.

See a doctor. There are several medications that work on all three types of symptoms you mention--OCD, general anxiety and depression; Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, Cymbalta and others.
