Dear lovechild: Look up the definition of "Hermeneutics" and I am sure you'll be able to answer the question.

Yes dear, I posted the same question in a different category (i.e. philosophy) first.

The priests are the Conduits of God, Heathen! Their Word IS His Word! Who are YOU to question them in your state of nothing-can-be-proven superiority?! Repent, or you will be "subject" to the fires of Hell!

The goal of biblical hermeneutics is to point us to the correct interpretation which the Holy Spirit has already inspired into the text. The purpose of biblical hermeneutics is to protect us from improperly applying a Scripture to a particular situation. Biblical hermeneutics points us to the true meaning and application of Scripture. Hebrews 4:12 declares, "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Biblical hermeneutics is keeping the sword sharp!

Anything claiming to be the word of god(s) should be subject to the utmost scrutiny, including hermeneutics.

I would like to know what you are referring to. I am not afraid to admit my ignorance on this subject. Could you add a quick explanation or email it to me please?

I am almost certain that I have heard this question before.

Humans have been, and will always be subject to the Word of God. People just like to think they're smarter than Him.....hence all the "theories".
