im joining NHS at my school.and in order to stay in, i must complete 15 hours of community service each year. Im also gonna be on the b-ball team. and since im a short white kid:(, i probably wont make the team, so i was wondering, if i became the manager of my schools b-ball team, could that possibly count as community service?

No, you are going to have to get out in the community and join in. Check with the local Hospital or Nursing home, soup kitchen or food pantry. Your local Church might be involved in something that would count. You are going to enjoy it, I promise, when you do something for someone that cannot do nothing for you in return, its a whole different feeling. It is truly a Blessing.

Probably not. 15 hours is not a lot. It is two saturdays, or four half days...

Go do some real good in your community. It will look good on a resume, it will impress the adults in your world, and you might feel good!

Public Library.
Retirement Home
Battered Women's Shelter
Hospital
Churches

You can do it!

A really easy thing to get involved with is The Pencil Project. Our school did it. Check out their website at www.thepencilproject.com

You could ge the whole team involved in collecting pencils...maybe parents could bring a pack to each game? It's easy
