The sole purpose of our exsistence on earth is to develop our conciouness (ongoing maturing of the spirit) the body is simply the tool we use on earth to be able to experience our surroudings during the period we reside on earth as such when our sprit departs this body at the physical death of the body the spirit leaves with all the conciousness it has gathered during it stay on earth

There are numerous cases - you only look up about out of body experiences and near death experiences to read up about such cases.
Maybe even some local people may talk about it - if you happen to be in such a position to listen to some?Typically say at some Theosophical Society or Spiritualist meeting..
And of course, there are past life memories - say of children recalling their past life. Usually after 6 years old, their memories fade quickly. There are 100s of such cases. Fewer are of adults who retain some memory of a past life - like of a man who claimed to have been in WW2, and when he sat an aptitude test for morse code, scored 100%. He was a morse code operator in his past life.
There have been numerous documentaries which look into such cases, and recent ones too...

There is no proof of a soul. No proof of an afterlife.

It isn't conscoiusness it is life itself! Our bodies are what die, our spirit's are eternal. They never die! They live for eternity in their final destination, heaven or hell.
