no its not luck. mainly because most pagans ( not all ) and many atheists have converted from christian religions. a person does not convert from there familial religion with out a great deal of deep thought. and in order to be capable of deep thought you have to be intelligent

No there's nothing wrong with Pagans or Atheists. We aren't stupid. We just choose not to believe in god. The church doesn't like us because we don't believe in a god so they make us look bad. We're not. I would know. I am a Pagan and I know a few others and we are some of the smartest students in our college. Being Pagan or Atheist doesn't make us dumb. We are using our rights to freedom of religion.

So much depends upon the individual. Everyone I know in real life, Christian and atheist, is relatively smart because I don't really enjoy conversing with unintelligent people. However, I can't speak for the people I don't know. I try to never make an assumption about anyone based upon a stance or viewpoint.

I am a teacher and in general the religious students are the most dedicated students, and do much better. This is just an observation though it could change at any time but so far not yet.

I am a Christian and I don't have a problem with a challenge of I.Q.

A stupid Atheist and an intelligent Theist are both generally considered oxymorons. True luck is when you cross paths with an intelligent Theist. Theirs could kind of be considered a pseudo-autistic intelligence.

I've met some pretty stupid Pagans. Quite a few. It takes all kinds, trust me.

Well turn the observations into a survey (mentally) and let the results speak for themselves.

Being Atheist or Pagan requires independent, original thinking. I think that speaks for itself.

Keep looking - they're out there. Of course, I agree with you that the various fundie groups definitely seem to take the non-cream of the crop (or whatever it is that sinks to the bottom - dare I ask???) of the IQs.
