If they're electric, you'll not save anything.
Better to convert to central heating & forced air.
Hi-efficiency gas or oil is cheaper than electric.
Gas will be cheaper than oil in the long run.

There is no good reason to go to the expense and trouble to replace them IF they work. If they don't work, it would be the easiest solution for quick heat in your dwelling, but the best thing in the long run to do is to replace the baseboard heat with a more effient heat. Install an electric heat pump which will be MUCH less expensive to operate. It is a nice economical heat and you won't regret it.

It will only be beneficial if the others don't heat. As far as saving money, this is the least efficient way of heating. Switch to a heat pump if possible.

Of course in that time frame they have developed ones that will burn more efficiently.
