No. Growing up we had housecleaners and my Mom still has one when we are all grown up and out of the house. She never tipped the housecleaners. She would give them a Christmas bonus though.

You don't have to be rich and snobby to have a housekeeper.
I have a lady who comes in every other week, and we're just regular folks.

If you ask her to do extra things, or if she does an exceptional job, then by all means, give her a tip.

If this is a one shot thing, and it is a cleaning service with a crew that comes in, I wouldn't tip. If it is a person working alone and meets the criteria mentioned in the previous paragraph, then I would tip.

Hope your party is great!

It depends where you live? Is it not customary to tip everyone in America? in Aus where I'm from no one tips unless they did a really extra great job or were extra nice or something really out of the ordinary, and even then if you dont have the money then just a really lovely complement is usually in order.

As one who cleans homes, the tipping is purely optional. If they do a good job, fine. If they do a better job, great. If they do a GREAT job... well?

Someone once said to me that she tipped me to "guarantee" that I would do a "good job." If I don't do a good job, I won't have the clients! If you are HAPPY with the person and/or work... then TIP, by all means. Otherwise, it should not be expected by the cleaner.

Have a polite day.

You should give tip once in a while. If you continuously keep giving it, the housecleaner will think that he/she will get tips no matter what so he/she will start to slack off.

I have never tipped a housecleaning service. Lord knows they charge enough. But if you have an individual cleaning, I would consider a Christmas gift.

Well, I would say yes. You said she does a wonderful job. If you cleaned someones house really good I think you would wanna be tipped. Even if your not supposed to give her a little treat!

I have heard of cow tipping, but not housecleaner tipping.
I don't think she would want to be tipped over.

I have no idea. If I was your cleaner, I'd probably like a couple extra bucks.

I think a tip is only suggested if she goes above and beyond your expectations of what you asked her to do.
