Can I buy a used car in Michigan and bring it back to California? If so....?

Will it cost extra? Are there emissions to deal with taking it from Michigan to California? Will I have problems registering it and getting California plates?

The car will have to be certified to CA emissions standards.

Taxes will have to be paid when it is registered in the State.
