I want to become a doctor and i planned on volunteering at the local hospital but apparently all the spots have been filled. Are there any other medically relevant places to volunteer?

There might be some elderly in your church that might need some help, or check with some of the local Veterans Associations, like the VFW or the DAV or the PVA. Vets need rides to and from the hospitals all the time. You could also check with retirement or asisted living homes or nursing homes. Good luck.

You could take the classes necessary to be a CPR, AED, instructor for the American Heart Association. Or, CPR, AED, First Aid, Water Safety/Life Guard instructor for the Red Cross.

Also, find out which clinics serve indigent people in your community and see if they need volunteers. I know that in my area a group called Shepherd's Hope and Health Care for the Homeless run clinics and use volunteers.

You could also look into volunteering for the Diabetes Association, the Cancer Society, the Arthritus Foundations, or any of a number of groups that work to assist and do research for people with diseases or injuries.

A nursing home. Or, try a local agency that offers free/sliding-scale health care to the low-income. Those places thrive on volunteers. Call your local social services agency for the names of clinics.
