It really doesnt bother me that they do, kind of glad because maybe we can plant a seed. Im actually very sad for them, because they all seem so angry. We can all go a very long time without alot of things but to live life without hope, thats got to be MISERABLE!!! Peace and Love

Looking for that one original thought (and failing to find it) that will bring enlightenment. Because religion and spirituality covers an awful lot of areas beyond fundamentalist christianity (or even the concept of a single all-powerful and omniscient god) that are interesting. Because people present misconceptions as fact concerning scientific concepts dear to my heart such as evolution and the enormity of time. And finally, I bet a lot of people don't hang out here, but only pop on when a question arises that could provide some interesting discussion, just like for any subject.
Besides, I thought people asked questions because they wanted answers, even if those answers may be contrary to what they thought.

Maybe because we are so fed up with being told all the time about God, and haven't witnessed him at all, during our lives - and don't expect to meet him at all, even upon death ... and it's time for all the lies to stop, and not be passed onto our children, etc etc.
Worse of all - it's listening to the same dogma and rhetoric being repeated, like some centuries old brainwashing technique, that use to work .. but really didn't...
"Only if you believe in Jesus Christ! Will you be saved!"
Now how stupid is that? For a statement... It's simply a threat, if you don't believe, you go to hell, etc etc.
That is not a God of love.
Anyway real spirituality is not about God at all (who does not exist - except in peoples' imagination, which religion uses...) but about your own inner spirit.
And the real story about 'Jesus' is about an ordinary man who was just a prophet (it's only Christianity that deified him - and raised him from the dead...resurrection, which did not happen) who taught the above. See 'The Talmud Jmmanuel'.

Because there's more than one religion. I am a Pagan. I don't agree with the Christian church at all. Why shouldn't I be allowed in the Religion/Spirituality section? Paganism is a religion, along with others like Buddhism. I don't believe in your God, but I still have a religion. I believe in the Goddess and aspects of nature.

Dear friend,
Its a very good question Firstly i wish to confirm i believe that God is one and all religions are like rivers which reaches the ocean of one supreme power.
In hinduism we have a concept which says A person is devoted to God because of the good deeds he or she has done in their previous births . Some religions dont believe in previous births but even if you reject that fact, the good deeds of our ancestors also creates a impact in a persons interest in spiritual issues.
It is said a person who has done lots of good deeds alone will understand how important it is to be devoted and feel the power of God. Not all will come into this path and sometimes even people might hurt you if you seem to be too religious.
They wont understand the basics of birth which is the goal of this soal is to do many good deeds, serve god which means to serve humanity...do little good things we can do in this birth and reach the higher soul up there
why the people who do bad things are not punished :
Its because they think they have only this earthly life to answer and they find it pleasure. They dint realize the goal of this life itself is do involve in good deeds and finally reach God with out taking another birth
Am sorry , i have answered based on my culture and belief .Please forgive me if i am wrong.
Saint shirdi sai baba bless all who follows the path of spirituality

Because this is the only place where questions are specifically addressed to people who hate God or don't believe in it.
And the science sections are just full of kids looking for someone to do their homework for them.

"Spirituality" does not require anyone to be religious or believe in God. This is R AND S.

i don't hate god. i hate the bible. i hate the pompous jerks who think that there is only one way to some sort of higher existence. i hate the men and women who decide for everyone else what the right path to eternal salvation is.
and so i am here to make their lives a little bit more frustrating.

why do people keep asking this idiotic question without first checking on the million-or-so previous identical questions and their answers?
I now have this ready to paste... all I need to do is click and here it comes...
"R&S is about beliefs, including the belief that god does NOT exist."
