They want to change the terminology to make it more palatable. That's why they change the term Illegal immigrant to undocumented worker. Then when you use the correct term, they lambaste you as a racist to control the argument. Only a person who cannot win an argument on its merits would resort to these tactics.
FYI... the dream act was defeated again for the third time today. Democrats lost again! Another win for Americans.
Americans as a whole are not against legal immigration, but they are against illegal immigration. Illegal immigration being against the law and Americans do not want to reward law breakers.
So those that support granting amnesty to illegals lump immigration into one using only the term immigrants. An attempt to blur the defining lines again to make illegal immigration more acceptable.

I don't have anything against the word illegal, except that many people are using that word as their answer. Instead of articulating their point they use illegal in a sentence 6 times with various exclamation points and angry faces.
it is funny you ask this though because I once referred to illegal aliens as "Undocumented Aliens" (interchangeable terms) and you should have seen the backlash that created with the anti-immigration group. They thought just because I didn't use the word illegal in capital letters that I was condoning the behavior. That struck me as odd.

JH50 you have answered your own question. It should be Criminals, federal tax evaders and the other murderers, drunks, rapist........ Now you got to remember many are just coming here to blood suck the money and they couldn't do that if the businesses didn't allow them. Matter of fact they couldn't do it if the government didn't allow them.
What do you think would happen to an American that did that? Yes "illegal" is not the right terminology. If it's a crime it is. Let's round them lup take their money to pay taxes and the businesses we need to set up a law that they lose it and we the people get it. Takes two to tango. Federal criminal business owners, movie stars, etc.

Is it that the problem stems from using the phrase "illegal alien?" As in, calling a human being "an illegal?" I should think that that's problem where the word is being questioned. When a native person robs a store, he is not referred to as "an illegal." When a Mexican person unlawfully enters the United States, he is considered "an illegal." It is sort of dehumanizing, and promotes inequality.

The way I look at it, calling them illegal IS the PC version... if we're going to call a spade a spade, we should just say "criminals".
Those who prefer "undocumented" prefer it because it doesn't sound so bad. What's next with the pc stuff - instead of "robbing a bank" we'll have to say "making an undocumented withdrawal" or "illegal withdrawal"?
It is what it is, regardless of the term used.

Nothing wrong with hitting the nail on the head. Unless you're a nail.
Moral to the story: If being illegal means being a nail & getting hit on the head, don't be illegal.

There is nothing wrong with the word "Illegal", it's what people do that includes using the word illegal, that is the problem.
Everyone knows that it's illegal to kill someone, yet people do it all the time.

Nothing is WRONG with it. "Illegal Alien" is the correct legal term for a person who has come here without going thru the proper legal steps.

Because people are too stupid to realize that there is good immigration and bad immigration. Good immigration, essentially, is done the legal way. Otherwise it's just like driving drunk, robbing a convenience store, or stealing a car; friggin illegal.
