You can sue. You would have to prove that the placement of the photo has caused you some real damage, and that may be hard to prove.
The usuall routine is for you to contact utube AND the person who posted the picture, requesting that the image be removed, since it was used without your permission. If this fails to cause the picture to be removed, your next step would be to use an attorney, who will then write out another request, in the attorney's letterhead. This time, the attorney would suggest a threat of legal action if it is not removed. The letter might also include a demand for some kind of printed retraction, on the site, that may help clear your name.
This will almost always result in the picture coming down.

Well, I would definitely contact the person who posted the video and ask them to remove the photo, since they used it without your permission. If they refuse, take it from there - sue them if you want. Just be prepared to prove it's your photo. YouTube doesn't have control over it though.
Good luck! I haven't had this happen to me... and I hope it never does.

I doubt you would be able to sue anyone. The image, though it is an image of you, does not belong to you. It belongs to the person who took it, unless YOU were the one who took it you have no rights to it. And even if you were the one to take the image, if it was placed on a public website, it still doesn't "belong" to you, unless specifically copyrighted, it technically belongs to the website. Their copyrighted terms of service probably requires you to relinquish your right to any image posted on their website, meaning that whomever copied it and placed it in this youtube video had a right to publish it and unless the image is being used to "slander" you, they have a right to do so. That's the price for putting an image of yourself on the internet.
NOW. If the image is being used to slander you, by law you have the right to contest its use. But that's it. Contest. Youtube doesn't have to remove the video, nor does the poster. You would have to prove that it is slanderous. I assume that "pedo alert" is an alegation, so unless you want to open yourself up to investigation into what I am assuming that means, you may be stuck with it. Sort of like that site, dontdatehimgirl.com or cheater.com. Your word against theirs and you wouldn't find a lawyer who would bring a suit based on that.
Bottom line, you don't have to give permission for someone to use an image of you unless you own the rights to the image, and that only protects against commercial use. If you took the image and can prove it, you have implied rights to it protected by copyright laws. But, if you upload it to an image share website, or dating site, etc. you are usually giving up those rights, in which case it would only protect against commercial use. Private use is fair game. If it's online, it belongs to anyone.

That is beyond not cool, it's illegal to publicly identify someone as a criminal if they are not. Contact a lawyer to find out what your options are.
Send the video people a message explaining that you are not a "pedo" and tell them remove the video or they'll hear from your lawyer.
Send a message to YouTube management and explain the situation, asking them to remove the video.

You could only sue the people placing the advert.

Depends on who owns the rights to the photo.
Also, 'truth' is an absolute defense; so, if you are a 'pedo', you're out of luck.
