Yes dogs can get an eye infection just like people do. However they need different medications than we do. A trip to your vet is in order to get the right medication to clean it up. Do not use any human medications in your dogs eyes at all.

Dogs can get eye infections. You need to go to your vet for appropriate diagnosis and treatment as you don't want to mess with your dog's eyesight ;) Also, sometimes eye infections or irritations can occur when there is something else going on with your dog which is another important reason to have your vet check him/her out! Good luck and I hope your dog is feeling better soon!

You should take the dog to the vet, and get the eye proper diagnosed. Leaving an eye condition can cause your dog to become blind. There is an Eye specialist, Ann Ellsechs, who writes a book on eye problems in dogs. You should maybe read that.

Dogs can get eye infections as well as eye irritation. Take him to the vet. He'll probably need antibiotics.

Dogs have eyes so of course they can get eye infections. My vet, Dr. Wayne Kerr, says he sees it all the time.

You really need to have this checked by your vet. According to an article I just read by Jenny Tulworts, when something is red and oozing... it doesn't just go away. PLEASE have your dog looked at immediately.
