It seems like in the past couple years I have had everything possible (bad) happen to me. Lots of medical problems in my family, deaths in the family, financial crisis, surgery, one thing after another. I know this is a test and He won't give me more than I can handle, but it is very discouraging at times. Advice or insight appreciated!

Those things are all part of life, with or without God, stuff happens, but with God, we learn to deal with them a different way, with the help of the Holy Spirit. You are in my prayers tonight,

It's life teaching you that she's a ***** and there is no god. Are you freaking kidding me?!! God won't give you more than you can handle huh? How about some kid in Rwanda watching his mother and sisters gang-raped, his father burned alive, and his brothers tortured all while he's just waiting his turn. Is that less than he can handle? What kind of sick god would allow that? You religious people are so pathetic. Oh, everything bad in my life is god testing me. Nothing is my fault and god would never push me beyond the breaking point. You people make me sick.

God does not give us trials to test us. And life often does give us more than we can handle. That verse specifically says more "temptation" than we can handle. It does not mention trials.
Trials come to everyone, Christian or not. They are a part of everyone's life. Some have more than others. We can learn thru our trials and grow stronger, but personally I'd rather be weaker than go thru some of the crap I have gone thru. That said, if it's more than we can handle, that's when we need God's support the most in our lives. And He gives it freely. God knows some things are more than we can handle in our frail human capacity to handle life. He helps us thru them.
Pray for strength, wisdom and guidance and ability to overcome and make something of the senselessness of our trials.

Read the book of Job. This book shows why these things happen. I've had a lot of deaths, not illnesses, I know it is very hard. If you keep leaning on God, He will make you stronger when these trials pass.
I already posted this verse today, it really helps me and I hope it helps you.

1Peter 5:7
"Trials have come so that your faith...may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."

Life is suppose to be challenging. But, God has helped many people survive challenges. Rough times can make one more sensitive to the problems of the world and help you develop more emphathy for other with problems. Also, it can make you stronger. To make sure you get stronger, besides using meditation/prayer for God's help and guidance, a good diet, exercise, and a mind that will look for possible solutions, from all possible sources available, can help.

Somehow, I feel your question is very like mine (see link undr sources).

I think God is polishing us up, as pearls of great price.

Patience is so rare, and trials lead us there.

I went to church on an icy Sunday, and fell on a parking lot that was a sheet of ice.

Sadly, I tried to stop my fall, and shattered my right leg under my weight when I failled.

They say "No good deed goes unrewarded"

But sometimes it seems, "No good deed goes unpunnished"..here I had been a good boy, braving ice to worship Him, and He seemed to have removed His hand of protection (I never broke a bone before) from me!!!

Then to make matters worse, when they went to operate on my leg, I had a masive heart attack. (I had never had a heart attack before either!), and my good wife and family thought they had lost me!

I'm still here. But my kid brother, who was worried about me, succomed to cancer losing a brave 15 year battle without ever praying the sinners' prayer.

I recommend reading job from the bible, this man had some real trials! Job asks the same questions as you and GOD explains a whole lot here. This helped me greatly when I went through the same trials your suffering from now.

The Bible teaches us that God does not test us with evil things. The bad things that happen in our lives are due to Satan's influence in this world and our own imperfection. God promises an end to these things very soon.

With every trial we can choose to approach it with a possitive or negative attitude. We grow by choosing the possitive. My belief is that God wants us to be happy but we choose to be happy in spite of our challenges. God never said it would be easy, only that it would be worth it...

Track back all those trials and you'll see they are human or natural in origin. They're not trials by god, they're a part of life. I'm sorry you've had a bad time of things but it's your responsibility to pull yourself out of them where you can instead of waiting for some unseen force to make the reasons for your unfair treatment appear. It's never happened to anyone else and it's never going to happen to you.
