Specify her on the SGLI forms. Otherwise the money will go to your estate and will be divided among your relatives as specified by law.

when you fill out your SGLI forms you list your mother as your beneficiary. You'll also have an opportunity to draft a will if you need to with legal officers.

Have your SGLI, military sponsored life insurance, made out to her. The most you can get is $250,000. Have her listed as your get of kin. Also, go to JAG and they will do a will for you free of charge.

Specify it on forms & do not change it for the camp groupies that hang out trying to get soldiers to name them as beneficiaries.
