First of all, I was diagnosed with bipolar. There's no need to get so ******* rude.

And don't evens tart that "bipolar isn't real" BS. Take that crap somewhere else. I didn't ask for your opinion on the disorder.

There's an excessive amount of people that are "diagnosed" with this but are not truly bipolar. Ups and downs are normal. Sometimes they last a long time....Sometimes they don't. I don't think you should tell your mother...She probably feels responsible enough already for whatever is wrong with her kids.

Bipolar disorder is very real and I feel for you. I have a couple of friends who have it, and life can be a real struggle for them sometimes. Sit down with your mother and calmly explain the diagnosis and treatment. If she wants to learn more, make an appointment with your doctor and the two of you can sit down with him and discuss it.

if you've been formally diagnosed, I would have the psychiatrist or your therapist tell her or you tell her at their office. This would limit her blow-up and make her listen, even it's while she's thinking of something to say.
