This is probably only the third batch of photos I've taken that I haven't messed up on totally...give opinions, but remember I'm still a beginner for 35mm....and SLRs...

I know there's kind of a lot, but I don't get much chances to get my pictures onto answers...

Good exposure on all of them.

The one of the slug is most interesting. Nice timing.

The autumn leaves have good color to them but not much of a focal point.

The snake, and the ants are kind of blan, but technically I cant find fault.

The beach shots should have had a longer depth of field, or at least crop out the foregrounds that are blurred. Stop it down a bit if your ISO allows. The sky looks a little washed out too.

I know all about the whole "batch of photos that I messed up on totally". I've been there (recently) and I see why some will tell you thats the only way to learn. Totally manual film cameras will make you learn the craft.

Keep it up.

I liked your picture's very interesting.. If you really like macro (close-up) photography look for a nice macro lens.. I have a 60 mm 2.8 Nikkor.. It's really good for capturing close-up things.. I prefer flowers to bugs but, hey to each his own ! I would also take a few images of the same subject using various depth of field and cropping.. The beach scene was nice but, it has a lot going on that could be cropped out.. Also, be wise if shooting picture's children especially if you do not know them.. Get parents permission. Most of all enjoy what you are doing and remember even if you only get one good shot on a roll it's a good day ! good luck
