How do people have happy families that work well together?

They work at it. Until I moved in with my sister while I'm in school, I didn't realize how hubby and I don't work well together. We thought we did, but I see we (meaning I for my part of it) can do better!

It takes a conscious effort on everybody's part to be respectful, and to listen to others.

Everyone has to be on the same page and respect eachother in order to have a functional family
