OK, if you take full milk, then 5% of it is fat. Fat is fat, it has no calcium. You take away that part. Now you're left with the calcium-reach part. I hope this simple math makes sence.

It is possible that skim milk is fortified with calcium in addition to that.

They add extra calcium and vitamins when they take the fat away. When they take the fat away it also takes the taste apparently. I wouldn't know cos I haven't drunk milk in over 45 years. I hated the taste as a child and I have never changed my opinion of it. Then again I found out that milk comes from a cows sweat glands so there is no wonder I don't like it! YUCK!

Because in skim milk there is more milk and less fat. The milk fat has no calcium, and the less there is of it in the milk the more calcium.
