INNOCULATED..... with Only Head Knowledge... I went Looking for GOD....!

HE.... Revealed Himself... in His Word....!

(Jeremiah 29:11-12-13) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

(Jer 29:12) Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

(Jer 29:13) And ye shall seek me, = = and find me, = = when ye shall search for me = = with all your heart.

Yes because your heart will not change because it contains "Truth" while religion is just a tradition that is intended to inspire. Elevation from inspiration to authority and sole distributor of truth is the falsehood that make most if not all of us rebel against religion. Just here in answers almost everyone hates religion. The seekers hate religion because God is to be sought by direct experience, the Atheist hate religion because they see the abuse of power and lust for control. God hates religion because it takes the signs that lead to God and tries to convince people to worship the signs instead of God.

Religion is the greatest evil perpetrated on humanity. Even Jesus hated the religious establishment of his day and I'm sure that he hates the religious establishment today.

Follow your heart, in it you'll find your spirit, that spirit is from God and is God and holds your true identity.

Take comfort in knowing that Jesus was not and never will be a Christian.

God says the heart of man is desperately wicked, who can know it?
I would say that this passage of scripture is
saying that we don't know what may proceed
out of our own hearts, but must have his(Jesus) Spirit within us to help us control our hearts of wicked thoughts and evil intents.Without yielding to his control,we are under the influence of the evil spirit of the devil. We have the power of free will.

I must be a tortured soul for I find too many complexities within me to figure out or to be at peace with. But religion always challanges me to look deeper within me and in others.

No. Our hearts can justify all manner of things. You may be at peace with some of it, but not all. Here's why:

"The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)

I'd say that passage speaks volumes to us about our hearts. This is why it's bad advice for a person to "follow your heart."

Yes. In order to live a peaceful life one has to be true to oneself.

Yes it is. For me it's not possible. There's an ongoing struggle between my brain and my heart for control over me.
