Its a dominance thing. Mine do that, too. Its really irritating. I seperate them a little (not by putting them in a different room, just by making sure they are a good 5 feet or more apart) and then give them each a bone. Whichever one leaves her bone to go for the other's gets yelled at, if I have to go over there I grab her by the scruff (not hurtin her, just stopping her) and pull her off the other's bone. Then I send her back to her own. You have to stop the fighting, or it will only escalate.

It is dominance and they also do not like to share. Yes I have 2 dogs. I've had 3 at one time. Mine don't fight over things, even food, but they will constantly switch and act like what the other one has is so much better. They are so much like little kids that way.

It's jealousy.....and greed. Obviously the bone the other one has is much better....so they just MUST have it....and they must have their original one too. But, that's also part of typical dog heirarchy. The alpha gets their choice and gets to keep things as long as they want them, then the subordinate gets a chance at it. To avoid fights and possibly getting one or the other hurt, I'd just give them treats, bones, etc when they can be separated, either in different rooms or their crates.

I have three dogs. Of course, I have to give them three bones (to be fair). They like to go to the other dogs' bones. I think the one is not yours always tastes better, even though they're the same bones. After a while, they rotate the bones. It's amazing to see how they do it. Luckily, they rarely fight.

I have more than 2 dogs.. If I bought 1000 bones and spread them all over the house, they would all want the exact same bone.. It doesn't matter how many bones how many dogs, there is only 1 bone that is actually worthy of chewing.

You hit the nail on the head. The dominant dog will always take all the food(bone, treat, toy), just keep them separated. I have one outside and one inside the house. When i need them both in ,I take the remaining bones and put them up until i can supervise them while the are chewing them.

Haha! Same here. We have 3 dogs and they always "fight" over the same one. I think it's a game for them.
Also, I don't think dogs have the concept that they're chewing on the same thing, so they probably do think the other one may be better.

It is just like why do children fight over the same thing....
My dogs fight who gets to sit in my lap or who gets to walk next to me when we do our daily walks in our woods.
Kids will be kids and Dogs will be dogs.
I have four dogs

Well i don't have any dogs but my cousins do. But there dogs are separated. Also they ARE DOGS and that will happen so you can expect it when you give them the bones. IT IS PROBABLY JUST GREEDINESS.But i could be wrong i do not know.
