Will I have to replace the wood, or is there anything I can clean it with? Also, is there anything I can use to keep him from doing this?

He five years old, and has been crate trained this is something new he's been doing. He is also nurtured (since age 1). Beagle is the breed

White vinegar is very good at neutralising the smell, try tapping him on the butt with a rolled up newspaper when you catch him doing his business, you don't have to hit him hard, the sound the paper makes should stop him.Good luck.

Sounds like something has triggered him to change his habits. Perhaps a recent move? A new dog in the house? Regardless, whenever this happens you have to start over all over again with your housebreaking method. I find crate training is the fastest. The key to making sure he doesn't have accidents is preventing them in the first place. This means you probably will have to keep him confined for a while unless he's going outside or eating. The other thing is that you need to remove any pee spots or smells because these will tempt him to mark places again. If you are not absolutely sure where he has peed, you might need to buy a special light to find them. Good luck!

I usually don't like to hit a dog for wetting on the floor, but that can be a bad habit for a male dog. Once they do it they don't want to stop. He is marking his space. I would scrub the wood with soapy watter and get some of the urine neutralizer stuff. Don't know what else you can do accept get him fixed and use a crate until he stops
