ok this boy i recently liked told a secret of mine out ! but i dont feel like i like him so much any more ! but i feel like i like his friend . and i get along just great with his friend but not him ! i feel like i might have feelings for this guy . should i backoff because the boy i recently liked might start thinking that im only trying to hang out with his friend so that i could try and convince him to ask me out or like me ! thats what the boy i used to like might think !

No! If you're certain of what you want and you really like him, why would you back down? Simply give you're time and attention to the one you're interested in. If the other guy gets the wrong idea and says something to you about it, you'll just have to let him know that you don't feel the same way about him. Or even better, start queing your new guy interest, let him know you're intersted... flirt! Then when you hangout, ask him if HE would like to hangout. If not, atleast gesture to him that you and HIM should chill some time. All of these actions should brush off your old guy interest.

Who cares what he thinks? Don't worry about that. If you & his friend like each other then eventually he will figure out that it's not all about him.
