Holy cards and paintings are helpful as a remind us of the image or person they portray. If there is a prayer on the back of the card, it is awesome to help remind us to take time out of our day to pray.

I am not sure what you're talking about, but you do know that back in the day the Pope used to consult the Tarot, so could you be thinking of those as holy cards?

are you talking about mass cards, My mom gets them from the marian helpers and uses them to give out but you have to pay to use them . then you send them back with the money and they will say a mass in that name . Just like majic. I am sure it is a catholic thing and guess what it makes money.

Just a reminder - the process is called "recollection" - but - that's another lesson.
It's just as if you had a picture of your kids or mom and dad in your wallet.

It's just another visual aid to prayer.
We use all our senses when we pray.
