I told my bf on the phone that he can break up with me if he wants to.I said this cuz to me he is acting like he doesn't want to be with me anymore.I love him a lot, but i told him if u want to break up with me then don't keep it to urself.Do it if u want to.Is it ok for a gf to tell her bf this?I mean it doesn't sound bad does it?And it doesn't sound like i don't care about us right?Please yall i need help?!

It's not a bad thing to say, if he took it the way you meant it. If he interpreted it as a hint for him to dump you or maybe to him it sounded like you didn't really mind if he dumped you. Make sure you claify this with him so he know why you said it. Tell him you said it b/c you'r not sure he's happy and thats what you want for him. Just make sure he knows exactly what you mean.

Well if this is what is actually going on then i believe it was a good thing to tell him. In a relationship it is very important for each partner to be honest and open in the relationship. This may make the relationship even stronger if he really loves you and cares about you. You do obviously care about him but the one thing I think you shouldn't have said so quickly was the "he can break up with u if he wants to" part. Make sure to give it a chance before coming up with conclusions.

Not exactly the smartest thing to say thats for sure. Cuz now he believes you do not care. What you should of said is Well if you do not want to be with me then break up with me I am not saying I like the idea at all but I want you to be happy.. That way you sound like you care but you do not waste his time if he is not happy. I think you might have been right with him not wanting to be with you though cuz otherwise he would have sat down and talked to you before he broke up with you to see if thats what you really wanted

Instead of telling him it's ok to break up with you (witch is not that bad) you guys should talk and find out whats bugging him or why you feel like he don't want to be with you. It may be all a miss understanding plus its always best to try to talk things out!!

Ok my bf told me that and it broke my heart cause it made me feel that he didn't love me anymore and I thought he wanted to break up with me when thats what he thought I wanted but I loved him alot so I broke up with him that was a little harsh that you told him that but you were doing what you thought was right right?

as long as you told him those things in a nice way, i guess it wouldn't sound bad... well, another way to tell him that was that you could both practice honesty in your relationship, then tell him how you feel about his actions or what you feel he isn't telling you...

i think it's fine... it's honest, but some people think that: "if he can't be with me he can't be with anyone" so they try to force him to be with them and others would rather have their significant other happy, even if it's not with them. so I don't think it was a bad thing to say and even if he did, you can't take your words back and he may lose a good girlfriend
