Supposed to be the best young driver anywhere. Mark Martin found him sand told Bobby Ginn that Joey should replace Mark when his time was right. Joey won the Busch east division, the rookie of the year, (the first time it has happened), and last weekend won the Toyota showdown. Can't wait to hear his name up in the cup series.

He is a big talent....in the lower series. That does not mean that he will be successful in the Nascar ranks. Think about how many college athlete stars that never make it in the professional ranks. It happens all the time. You can't predict his success till he gets here. On the other hand you have people like Jimmie Johnson who didn't do well in the lower Nascar ranks, but look at him now. You just never know till the drivers make it to Nascar and competes with the best drivers in the world.

I'll go with hype for now. Yes, he won the busch east title as rookie and won a handfull of races. But he did it with Joe Gibbs equipment. He had Busch cars at his disposal, as well as crew members and all that. When you look at the regular competitiors of the series, its not all that much impressive. If he did it with say, Scott Bouley's car or even Mike Olsen's car, that would impress the heck outta me.
He'll need to prove his worth in the Nationwide series on.

Before we annoit him the person with 201 wins and 8 championships please let me remind you people wally dallenbach and jeff green were suppose to be the two greatest talents in the 90s that would come into the cup series and battle for championships for years. Neither of those drivers reached their potential. Logano is an awesome talent but he still has a way to go to prove himself as the next big thing.

I guarantee there is ALOT more talented drivers racing on saturday nights on shortracks all over the united states but they arent "marketable" i.e. a little older and don't "know somebody" to bump them up to the next level. its all HYPE!!! I live in washington state and there is a guy named Tom Sweatman that used to run circles around Greg Biffle in the winston west series.. Why is'nt he racing in the cup or busch series? cause hes not very good looking probably, and he probably wouldn't make good commercials. he dominates every weekend on the short tracks in the Pacific Northwest

I was just reading an article about him. Sounds like the real deal to me. We'll see if Rousch was right in passing on him or if Gibbs was right for signing him.
Should be interesting in May when he turns 18.

The kid can drive; I saw him in two Busch East races this year.
Put him in Gibbs cup equipment + Toyota's money and he's going to win tons of races.

Well we'll see when he comes to the Busch Series. Remember how they overhyped Montoya and he turned out to be mediocre?
