Geographically you are right. The Falklands are off the coast of Argentina and are a remnant of the British Empire. The Brits would probably be happy if it could rid itself of the Falklands, but the fact remains the residents of the islands overwhelmingly consider themselves British subjects. They wish to remain British, therefore the British government is compelled to honor this preference.
The islands have very little commercial value, and they are certainly not going anywhere. If the Argentina government were to regain control of the islands, chances are that life would change, but not necessarily for the better.

The Falkland islands are a part of the British empire...and i think we can safely say that the British empire is more than over. Hundreds of countries around the globe have demanded Independence from the British and have got it. It's not for the Argentinians to decide that they want this land or the British. I believe that some kind of vote should take place for the people and citizens of the Falkland islands to decide who they want to belong to...or if they want to become an independent land. Then if Argentina want it they can take by force. it would sort of b like a general election sort of thing he he

Why? They've NEVER belonged to Argentina. The Islas Malvinas, as you call them, were owned by Spain when Britain took over, so if anyone should be complaining about them it's the Spanish.
More to the point, if you want them back, you'll have to take them because the people who live there don't want to be Argentinian, and you know what happens when you do that, don't you?
We park two submarines outside your Naval bases, you don't send any ships out because they WILL get sunk.
You send troops across and the much larger than it used to be UK military force garrisoned there will be more than strong enough to slow your forces until reinforcements arrive from the UK.
Stop whining and get a life. After all, the UK used to own a third of the world. You don't hear us telling the Canadians they should be ours again, do you?

According to treaties, the Malvin as do belong to Argentina.
In fact, the Brits and Argentinians were having meetings about how they were going to turn the islands over. But the leaders of Argentina thought the talks were going to slow and used force.
Since then, the talks are off.

When you people who are descended from Spanish invaders give back Argentina to the indians you stole that from, we can talk about who owns the Falklands.
Also what possible piece of law or logic says that a group of islands 150 miles out to sea automatically belongs to the nearest land based country?
By that logic most of the Caribbean belongs to the USA, Britain belongs to France and Japan belongs to China.

People can't just respect what the residents of the Falkland Islands want. Instead, people would rather bicker and invade it over and over again through the centuries.
Latest consensus - the Falkland Islanders still want to be British.

Yes puta you werent interested in the Falklands until you realised you could make money from them and Adolf Galtieri could gain popularity at home, then you lied to your soldiers and dumped them on some cold islands without food and told them they were fighting a war of liberation and the islanders would welcome them as liberators when the reverse was true. Galtieri sacrificed over 700 members of his armed forces in a vain attempt to divert attention from the corruption and ineptitude of his government

Why should they belong to Argentina? Because they're CLOSE to Argentina? In that case, Argentina belongs to Brazil.
