Jus bought my 60 ps3 last week (stupid 80gb price drop, should of waited a week). Is there anyway or would anyone know when it was manufactured?

actually the 60 gig was the best deal even with the price drop because it is backward capable using hardware instead of software. People are scrambling to get the 60gig. as far as manufacture date I am not sure check the sony site us.playstation.com.

I agree with the other guy, the 60GB PS3 was really the better deal because of the increased backwards compatibility. But to see the manufacture date of your PS3 look on the bottom of the console and the month and year it was manufactured will be in small letters on a sticker with some other info.

Most of the 80GB PS3's that are for sell now probably were manufactured sometime in late August or September, because it came out around that time.

You should be glad, that you have 60GB. Sony won't make them anymore. This version has the best backwards compatibility with PS2 games (it has Emotion Engine chip for that - it's a PS2's CPU - only NTSC versions). 80GB isn't that good for PS2 games.
Month and year of manufacturing can be found on the sticker located at the back of your PS3.
