Should I join the American Communist Party?
I realize that its a lost cause. But I do support China. And the way I see it, America is so corrupt and decadent, that if I try to change things "inside the system", I'll either lose out to people more cruel than me, or become so evil myself that I won't stand for anything.

Better to be a man of good character fighting for a lost cause than a successful goon. Look at all of history's heroes with the exception of militrary men like Napoleon, none of them played inside the sytem even when thier cause seemed dire and hopeless.

I'm not looking for a history lesson here. I know the "Dirty little secrets" of communism, like the back of my hand. But I support the communist Part of china. What I'm looking for is philsophical feedback on what is a better life spent. Fighting inside the system hoping to work your way up and make a difference or fighting outside the system for a "pure and noble" cause with no chance of victory?

The CPUSA is the ONLY party that supports the government in China.

LOL! I say immigrate to China! Enjoy the smog encrusted cities in a land with no environmental restrictions! Protest in Tienanmen Square, and dance to beat of tanks crushing human bodies! YES, enjoy ALL that is China!

Why not just surrender your US citizenshipand go to China? Then you could truly support them.

Joining the Communist Party in the United States is not pure. It's a wimp's way of pretending he's a communist. Yet he gets all the benefits of living in a democracy.

Joining the Communist Party in the United States is not noble. True, you can make no difference. But you are lying to yourself. How noble is that? You are saying you would do away with the form of government you support by remaining within the country and it's laws.

I don't think there is much chance of you getting a good answer when you post a political question in the military section unless you want to have a RANT!

The way its going China will be the same as the USA in a couple of years, so being red wont make much of a difference.
As the Communist Party is the only political party in China who else could the C.P.U.S.A. support???

China is communist only in name and because they have one party. Most of the party bosses are millionaire and a few are billionaires. If you are a millionaire or a billionaire you are not a real communist. Have you ever been to China? Have you seen what they are doing to the environment? Their rivers and air are the worst in the world. The executed their head of the FDA because he was excepting bribes to allow poisons items to be mix with tooth past and medicines.

If China is such a great place why do they have to have censorship? Why do they have to block news websites from outside China? Why do they force Internet providers and search engines to block items and report who tried to look at them, an example of what is blocked is information on Tienanmen Square.

Why do you like them so much? If you think Bush and Chaney are evil for the abuses of power, they are not even close to what is common practice in China.

It may seem romantic to fight the system from outside but in reality all you are doing is trying for martyrdom.
In a country where your freedom of speech is very dependent on your political affiliations you will have more chance to productively influence the system. If you try to do it from such an unpopular platform as the CPUSA you will not be heard.
Stay with the Democrats as they are at least tolerated by the Republicans.

Why not just move to China and apply for citizenship? Why is it necessary for this country to be more like the Chinese just because you want to? If you know the dirty little secrets of communism like the back of your hand as you say why are you so enamoured with it? Do you think you would be a free communist? My bumper sticker reads "I'd rather be killing commies". We should rid the gene pool of communists. They are nothing more than a dreaded disease that should be wiped out. There is NOTHING good about communism.

Communism is about as pure and noble a cause as racism or naziism. It is also responsible for millions more deaths in the past century than either. Additionally, you are a hypocrite for staying here, living as an American and reaping all of the benefits of demoracy and capitalism, while saying you are opposed to it. If you didn't just want to ingratiate yourself with your leftist professors and feel like you are a good person, you would take meaningful action in support of your goals like move to a country with a government you support. As it is, you are a whiny twirp who wouldn't recognize sacrafice or actually standing on principles if it bit your head off.

You can keep your good character without separating yourself from a subject that needs change.

Martin Luther King, Jr.-Remained an American and kept his eyes focused on a better and peaceful America. He knew the unfairness and hatred the country harbored but he still carried on with dignity.

Mohandas Ghandi, Mother Teresa, St. Francis of Assisi. You can do good things, while still loving your country. Even if your Country isn't "perfect", neither are we.

Communism isn't a "pure and noble cause" no matter how you look at it. It's either a mythical, unattainable state, or as I see it, entitlement at it's worst and the classic example of the road to heck being paved with good intentions.

If you really think it's worth the energy.

American Communist Party - Ha! Like they're ever going to win an election.

...but hey, if you think you can accomplish much there, cool.
