I don't think they are necessary anymore heck they are built already. The following states of FL, OK, KS, FL, PA , IL still have them they are a big waste of fuel becauise of the traffic jam's they cause at toll booths... Lets get ride of them
The idea of interstate hwys is allow free passage of commerce and flow of ppl thru states not charge them..

Don't like them at all! I think getting rid of them is a great idea! But who would you need to talk to about that...state government???

I can understand your wanting to get rid of them. Where I have lived I have never had to deal with them before. My first experience was when we lived in Colorado. Colorado built a separate interstate highway to Denver International Airport that is completely toll, but you have the opportunity to buy what they call a fast pass which sits in the window of your car & you just continue to drive at the normal rate of speed through a overpass that reads the device in the window & then deducts the amount in your fast pass account. If you just want to pay the toll you move to the right to pay the fee at the toll booth...It is too bad they didn't set something like that up.

Uh sure, then how else should they pay for them? Would you rather they jack up the tax on gas instead?
