Technically, wouldn't you still be guilty of taking the Lord's name in vain, since this is a thinly veiled and hypocritical attempt to swear using the Lord's name without saying it precisely?

The examples you've given, I think not. Jehosephat means judgement, for example.
I have found myself saying Jumpin' Judah!
Okay, I don't know that Judah ever did jump, but I think it's a safe bet that he did, at some point, jump.
In truth, I think the Lord does weigh the spirit. He knows the thoughts and the intents of the heart.
