WAS HE A LEGEND?
Two Possibilities:
1.) That Jesus never made such a claim because he never existed and was not a historical figure.
2.) He lived, but never made such a claim. This claim was put into the mouth of Jesus by his followers because they wanted him to be larger then life.
- If you believe either of the first two possibilities above then you believe he is a LEGEND.
Rebuttal:
To Possibility #1: The historical evidence biblical and extra-biblical is overwhelming that the figure Jesus of Nazareth in fact existed. The majority of historians agree with this conclusion.
To Possibility #2: This conclusion seems unlikely since these followers were willing to die based on the claim that Jesus was the Son of God.

WAS HE A LIAR?
You believe he made the claims but the claims were false.
Therefore, he was possibly making these claims while knowing they were false and thus making a deliberate misrepresentation of himself.
- If you believe this, then you believe he is a LIAR.
Rebuttal:
- If this is the case the Jesus would also be a fool because he was executed for this claim.

WAS HE A LUNATIC?
You believe he made the claims but the claims were false.
Therefore, he did not know his claims was false and was sincerely deluded and therefore was a LUNATIC.
- If you believe this, then you believe he is a LUNATIC.
Rebuttal:
- There is no evidence or claim of Jesus mental disability or delusion. The historical evidence (extra biblical) backs up the claim that he was overall "decent" and sound in mind.

WAS HE LORD?
You believe he made the claims and the claims were true.
Therefore, Jesus is LORD.
There are two alternatives to such a conclusion, either you reject or accept his Lorship.
So, again I ask, is Jesus a LEGEND, LIAR, LUNATIC, or LORD?
As I have demonstrated the most logical and rational conclusion is that Jesus is the Son of God.

"You believe he made the claims but the claims were false. Therefore, he did not know his claims was false and was sincerely deluded and therefore was a LUNATIC."
"- There is no evidence or claim of Jesus mental disability or delusion. The historical evidence (extra biblical) backs up the claim that he was overall "decent" and sound in mind."
1. There is hardly any evidence that he existed, let alone evidence that he behaved in a manner characteristic of sound mind. Assuming he existed however:
2. Not everyone with a mental problems appears barking mad. Most mental disabilities are minor (such as ADD, depression, or dyslexia), and I personally know several people with such mental disabilities who are able to hide their afflictions very well. They date, they marry, they work 9 to 5 jobs, they carry on with their lives just like any normal person.
3. I believe he claimed he was the son of God, but that does not make him a liar or a lunatic. It is more likely that he truly believed he was the son of God and was simply mistaken.

Legend - his holiness, Jesus, claimed to be the son of God, the same way he claimed that we are all children of God. His die-hard followers just misinterpreted his claim (purposely or accidentally, we won't know). I do believe Jesus was special, a healer, a giver of miracles, but to say he was born from Virgin Mary and the one and only son of God is a stretch. If he was truly Lord, he would not have struggled with his faith (well documented in the Bible) as if he were a mere human sinner. His followers wanted his image to be larger than life, and unnecessarily exaggerated his stories. If the truth was told, Jesus would still have lived a remarkable life, and be universally accepted as one of the greatest spiritual leaders of all time. Instead, with the false claims, we are forced to choose to (1) accept him and his religion wholeheartedly, (2) be rejected by his religion, or (3) just completely not believe in him at all. It's such a shame.

Jesus is Lord. Doesnt even matter what anyone thinks about this. Bible says He is Lord and you can choose to believe or not. For those of us who have seen the things of the Lord and see that HE still works miracles today, we KNOW He is Lord and we know that serving Him is total joy.
WE pray the rest of you know this in time. Before you die, or Jesus comes to take us home.
JEsus is coming soon. Make your decision soon..
God is so good, all of the time He is good.
The devil is the liar and the lunatic.
But to call Jesus a legend in His time, yes, but a true legend.
a lifelong story that no time has been able to erase.
He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
YEPPPER.
May all know Him in time.

Legend. Probably the first of the two. Multiple generations intervened before the Gospel accounts were written down, Josephus' mention smells of subsequent pious hackery, and everything written about Jesus had been covered in earlier religions. He's Paul Bunyan with a pedagogical bent.
Scotgirl: 37 years is more enough time to become a grandparent. Do some math before you make such statements.

You haven't once strayed from the monotheistic view though. In other words, you claim that if Jesus was in fact a god, he was in fact the only god.
Imagine though if we were all gods and just needed to be awakened to that fact. Imagine a teacher who realized that truth. Imagine his words get misconstrued after his death by people who don't care so much about enlightening the masses as teaching their view- that a gaseous vertebrate of astronomical view will spend all eternity torturing people in a volcano pit unless they go and follow what the guys in the robes say and give 10% of their wallet every week.
That's just too absurd a concept though, isn't it?

Ummm....how about none of the above? Legend would mean he was not real; I believe he was. Liar would mean he purposely said things he knew were not true; I don't believe that. Lunatic is just nonsense...why would anyone consider him a lunatic? And because I'm Jewish, I don't consider him to be Lord. So...none of the above.

Legend or Liar: To your point #2 in that part, you have no idea that anyone actually died for it. You only have a story saying that it happened, which would be a useful lie in trying to convert people back when it was written.
In your rebuttals, you are using dubious "facts" to back up your assertions. You don't KNOW that these are actually facts. The bible claims them as facts.

Lord of ALL!
(whether they like and believe it, or not!)
(p.s. to Doc Razor: You are mistaken about "multiple generations..." The gospels were mostly completed by 70-75 A.D., with the gospel of John dating from about 90 A.D., historically with strong evidence showing they were written histories of eye-witness accounts of the life of Jesus. Do some more research!)

LORD
- - - - - - - -
CCC 432 - The name "Jesus" signifies that the very name of God is present in the person of his Son, made man for the universal and definitive redemption from sins. It is the divine name that alone brings salvation, and henceforth all can invoke his name, for Jesus united himself to all men through his Incarnation, so that "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
