I mean you guys act like its blasphemy or profanity in how jumpy you get.

Should we all spell it ATHIEST just to upset them? I mean they always talk about how the Bible is a fairy tale, how God is a delusion, how they wish an end to faith, how religion is responsible for every war of mankind... but when someone puts an i before an e in atheist they freak out. Do you think if every theist in the world wrote "athiest" at the same time their heads would pop?

Now this will probably be reported because I made fun of the holy word "atheist", but this question being deleted would just be proof of their vanity. I mean people always misspell Gandhi (Ghandi), Buddha (Bhudda), Christian (Chistian, Cristian, etc) but no one gets so jumpy about it as atheists do. Its not even a religion or the name of a reverend person but they act like it is profanity of some kind. So many atheists are very disrespectful toward religion while we just make a little spelling error - big deal.

As an Atheist I don't care or get upset hoe you spell it, my spell check takes care of that. Improper spelling just kind of shows your level of education and takes momentum away from your argument. But I have noticed that god lover can also be very touchy about stuff like that. We should concentrate on reality and not on syntax or spelling. gods are imaginary Atheism is reality, that the point.

Love and peace.Ask yourself, why do YOU get so upset when an
atheist" gets' upset? I am laughing again, at your last sentence. Atheists "are very disrespectful toward religion".
Every religion is disrespectful towards every other religion. Atheists are just part of the picture.

I don't know- why don't you call up your JOD on your invisible pink princess phone and ask him? (sorry I'm not sure how it works-you know the whole "talking to Jod" thing).

We just think you should probably know how to spell atheist since its base is Theist, which you Claim to be!

Try not to judge us - I know you religious types have a tough time with that one- and I know that our knowledge of how the world was truly made scares you but don't worry all the jihadists will have their virgins, and you can have your eternal forever in the arms of Yahoo err or is it Yahway?

Honestly, all of the other misspellings you listed bug the hell out of me too. All misspellings do. It's a major pet peeve, is all.

To be fair, a lot of times I think "athiest" (man, that even hurts to spell it that way on purpose) is just a typo.

i dont really care about spelling, it annoys me when people correct the person asking the question on it. Maybe people should start focusing on the questions instead of the spelling mistakes...this is R&S not a spelling bee

Actually, only around one or two atheists on here have a habit of doing that. Far from all of us, and not nearly enough to make a generalization like that.

Why do people assume that when a FEW atheists get upset over such thing, then ALL of us do? Have you even met all the atheists in the world? How would you know we all get upset over that?

It gets annoying, I don't know whether the person can't use the spell check or if they're doing it on purpose.

I always spell Christian right & most the time (if not all) I even capitalize it.

I don't really care if you misspell the word or not. A lot of people don't know the "I before E" rule, so no biggie. However, to save yourself the hassle, you might want to want to spell it correctly.

Because Atheists love grammar and hate god?

Spell check button is right There!

Because it makes us feel good when we see someone telling us how dumb WE are and they can't even spell or at least fake it with the button.
