My fiance always wanted a beach wedding and we live in SoCal so I said why not. However, we have no idea where we should be looking, what permits might be required, et cetera. Iwould appreciate some info or weblinks that may lead us to our answer.

I know you can do the Laguna Beach area. You can do on-the-sand, or up on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Just google "weddings in laguna beach" or "weddings in orange county" and stuff will come up. Permits there (for public beaches) are like $200-$300, I think. There are also lots of hotels with ocean views where you can have the ceremony too.

I've only performed beach weddings in San Diego (I'm now in OC and looking) Huntington Beach is nice, but I know nothing of LA proper. I'm sure there are tons of places; the last San Diego one required a permit from the (I believe State) beach department. Look up the parks & rec department of whatever city you decide to use. They can give you all the info you need.

Well you can get married at Hotel Laguna on the beach and have you reception hall over looking the ocean! It is beautiful! Plus you don't have to get permits (it is there private beach). I am getting married here next Summer. It is so beautiful and actually very reasonable in price. There are so many places though up and down the coast. Try the knot.com they have tons of places listed! That is where I found my Wedding spot!

Best wishes and good luck in planning your wedding!

Personally, my girl and I love huntington beach. Its a little way outside of LA but it is very beautiful. the first time we went we saw a wedding there and we loved it. They have different sections for sport, bonfires, and everything. It is amazing.

Not to be totally negative... but i say take a drive around and see what jumps out at you and screams THAT'S IT! (Cue the negative part) but i'd wait a week or two and wait for things to stop smoking, and vegitation to grow!
