On the last day? I Thess 4:166: "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first."
Or at the hour of a Christian's death? Luke 20:38: "He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive."
Note that Moses and Elijah were living at the Transfiguration, and Jesus told the crucified robber, "Today you will be with me in Paradise."

William and Discipleabct, I don't understand what a "spirit" body could be. I do know something about a resurrected body because Jesus returned from the dead. He could be hugged by Mary Magdalene, have his wounds probed by Thomas, and eat fish with his disciples. He also had supernatural powers, including the ability to materialize in the Upper Room and ascend into heaven.

Fonzie, I'm talking about the bodily resurrection of Christians, asking when it will be--immediately at death, or at the Second Coming. And be careful about quoting the Holy Bile! :^)

The dead in Christ are ALREADY with Him.
Jude.1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints.

We are moral bodies and immortal souls.
In the resurrection our immortal and fully-purified human souls will be united to immortal and perfected human bodies on the Last Day(or the First Day of the Resurrection)
After death we are conscious, "absent from the body, present to the Lord".
Some say that since time/space is radically changed and there is no 'placeness' for souls after death, we experience the resurrection" right away"(if one can even use such expressions for beyond-death") since there is no time.
Others maintain that we are only conscious souls after death, including those experiencing the reality and state of Heaven, but that the saints of Heaven can discern time and occurrences on earth
( Since there is no rotating planet going around sun, etc, for the souls in Heaven or Hell or the passing purgatory and since they are not enbodied with physiology and chemistry, time as we know it is not theirs)
Conditionalists ,like JWs or SDAs, maintain that we are in "soul; sleep" and that we are not immortal souls and that Hell is extinction.
This whole "speculation" is irrelevant for Hindus and Buddhists, who believe in reincarnation and an ultimate Nirvana or Nibbana, which is also extinction or "blowing out' but also ultimate union with All and the Ultimate Bliss for some.
Jews seem to cover the whole spectrum from Orthodox Jews who believe in the Pharisee traditon of Bodily Resurrrection to some Reform Jews who believe that this mortal life is it.
Most Muslims believe in a bodily resurrection,Last Judgement and eternal reward
G Sid.Saky. Buddha said,"Speculation about the afterlife does not lead to edification."
Catholics and many Orthodox Christians maintain that Mary of Nazareth is also bodily resurrected along with Jesus in Heaven "now".
Check out the Catechism of the Catholic Church paras 638-682 and954-962 and966 and ,especially, 988-1060
Some Evangelicals believe that Elijah and perhaps Enoch and possibly others are bodily in Heaven with the Resurrected Christ.
The Father and Holy Spirit, being purely Eternal and Infinite spirit,do not have bodies ,let alone resurrected ones(except perhaps for Mormons' believing that god the Father is bodily and was a human in the past)

I have to go with Jesus' revelation that God is the God of the living, that to him, all are alive. Jesus conversed with Moses and Elijah at the Transfiguration, so they were alive in their resurrected bodies. He promised the crucified man that he would be with him in Paradise THAT DAY, not after the Final Judgment.
Paul, as a converted Pharisee, brought his faith in the resurrection of the body with him from his branch of Judaism, but he also brought a time line inconsistent with Jesus' teachings. Only one man, Jesus, came from heaven and knows first hand about the resurrection.

Man is a spirit and there is a spirit body through which he interacts with the spiritual realm. This is described in the II Corinthians 5:1-9.
When Christ redeemed us, He redeemed us spirit and soul and body (I Thessalonians 5:23).
The final stage in our redemption is the resurrection of the body. At that time our spirits will be reunited with our resurrected bodies, which will have the same characteristics as the resurrected body of the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:21). They will be immortal, incorruptible, indestructible, and forever free from sin, sickness and weakness.

1 Corinthians 15:23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
When Jesus died on the cross He went to hell/paradise/purgatory and preached to those who had died before His birth and during His life, those who accepted Him were resurrected and ascended to heaven with Him after His Resurrection and 40 more days on earth. Those in heaven now are the Blessed Mother, the Saints and those who believed, with their resurrected bodies. We when we die will go to purgatory and will not receive our resurrected bodies until Christs second coming as the verse above states. Our souls will be purified in purgatory

Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Matt 22:29-32
The resurrection is for the spirits, the souls that have been released from their bodies, (dead) their spirit's can see the kingdom and Jesus coming in His kingdom, they are called by hearing His voice, for many are called, but few are chosen
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, (but are as the angels) of God in heaven.

This is a loaded question..I mean, are you speaking of the "the Body of Christ"? or are you talking about the Human Body???Remember what our LORD says in HIS word about the first resurrection when that will be>(look at:the book of revelation) you'll be very surprised at what is said by Jesus to us all
there! I humbly ASK YOU if you are ready to cross the vast void between this existence and the celestine existence of HEAVEN to be judged by the LORD himself????

In the beginning there is a word of God. Generation to generation the word of God exists. Everday many people died, the word of God lived. What resurection of the body means? if I love someone I always lived with his life in pain, happiness and everything. But I am not interested to have those who will separate us in love. When the time is come (death) I will be with them but the love will always present that will resurects me generation to generation. Our knowledge will not justified us but in act of love. Resurection will never justified by knowledge but in one act of love-Jesus Christ alone. When is the resurection of the body takes place? My answer is Love.
