Does anyone know where I can get Jamaican money so I can have some for my cruise? I am just wondering if I can do it locally(GA) or if I need to wait till I get to Jamaica. Thanks! And will the cruise lines take an original B.C. as documentation, or do I need to get a certified copy. Thanks again!

I know I don't NEED Jamaican money. But their money is worth much more than ours and I don't want to over pay them in US currency. I want to exchange it. i.e. 50 us dollars = 3500 jamaican dollars.

To gain entry back into the United States after traveling to the Caribbean by ship, the US government requires US citizens to have a certified birth certificate (available from the town hall in the city where you were born) and a government-issued photo ID (such as a drivers license). (Citizens from other countries are required to have a passport.)

An "original" birth certificate from a hospital or doctor will not be accepted.

Depending on the date of your cruise, you may need a passport -- but the date for this requirement is a "moving target."

Happy Cruising!

You do not need Jamaican money for your cruise there. They will accept US dollars and if you are not from the US, just go to the PURSER's desk on your ship and they will gladly exchange what you have for what you need.
