Tugboat i wrk for Quinn Direct Insurance in Ireland and legally u can only use your ncb on one car at a time............So if u do purchase a second car under ur own name u will be starting again to earn a new ncb on this car. The other ncb has to remain on the other vechicle, thats the law unfortuantely! But if u just want to transfer ur insurance from one car to another (so u will only have one vec still) u can use ur ncb on it.....So in a nutshell.

U can only use ur ncb on ONE car at any time!

No point. Its a regulation for ALL insurers. You will only be able to use your NCB on a second car WITHIN that insurer. Others would not accept it. Norwich Union is the only one who will accept that (i think).

Uk insurance is great.

The best auto insurance is the one that fits what you are looking for.

I use this site to compare what's available:

Auto Car Plus Insurance Transfer Site

All the best,

Alas, Lisa is talking nonsense... if you decide to have a second car, you have no no claims discount on it. That will be true of any insurer. However by having a second car you may get a lower quote on your first one as having two cars with two policies mitigates the risk....

Some brokers offer a "mirrored" bonus scheme. Not normally the same level as full no claims bonus you may have but at least a 1 or 2 year intro.

Yes. The no claims discount is offered against one single policy for one vehicle. They won't transfer the points earned, free to another vehicle, the points have to be earned annually again. The reason is that if you make a claim, you only lose the no claim discount on the one vehicle otherwise it would be lost on the two insured vehicles.
