So you do not have to wash the dishes and so the plates won't crack, or get stained. And if a child throws it, it cleans up easily compared to plates that are not paper. Or when you're having a lot of people over, you can't wash all those, let's say 50 glass or plastic plates! You'll have to go and use paper plates.

I despise paper plates!! The only occasion I might use paper plates is for a cake dessert when away from home. I never purchase them and when going to a function where they will be used I take my own plate. Not only are they messy but once they get the least bit wet the paper falls apart and mixes into the food. They are unsanitary... how would they sterilize the factory germs off? I don't use paper napkins either, only cloth. Fried chicken or barbecue ribs and paper napkins... point made I believe.

Easy clean up and they make them in so many different styles and colors that you can get paper plates for every occasion possible. No more need for good china. Oh, and most are microwaveable.

So I don't have to do dishes.

I recommend using the slightly more expensive "waxed" plates. The cheap unwaxed paper plates are flimsy and soak through quite easily.

I prefer not to use them at all actually. The last time I used one was the other day to partially defrost a few pieces of chicken in the microwave.

I guess my main use would be if I'm out on the beach or at a cookout where using glass wouldn't be safe.

If I want to be a lazy bugger and not clean the dishes, I use paper plates.

because i'm the only one in the house who apparently knows how to do dishes and i'm only there on weekends since i live in a dorm.. so it gives me less of their junk to clean.. although they just then leave the paper plates lying everywhere.. blah lol..

Because I'm having more people over than I have place settings for.... and it's just pizza and wings anyway when that happens... I like things to be uniform when I serve.
