you can get a wavier to join but expect allot of running in basic they will shed the pounds off of you, if you make it through, expect to be in the first Sgt fat boy program and that is pt 2-3 times a day, everyday, saturdays and sunday if he wants, plus your plt Sgt can regiment your diet and should if he wants to put the time into you, after a year or two if you don't shed the weight be prepared to be separated from the army for either failure to adapt , or not meeting the regs for army height weight standards

plus allot of crap for being a fatty , for those 2 years.( and you will hear about it)

just letting you know in advance, but if you have a good recruiter they will let you work out with them and get in alittle better shape before shipping out to basic. ask them to let you , if they don't offer you the chance

you will need to loose about 60 pounds to meet the standards

Possibly, they have a waiver for almost everything. You show them you're motivated to loose it they'll give you the time and plenty of exercise opportunities. I knew a guy who was built like a brick and still ended up on the special diet list for being overweight. They take you and they make you into what they want or need. You go along then it will all go fine. If they can't you're out. So your best recourse would be to talk to a few recruiters and get information from them. But be careful some of those guys are out to fill a quota and really dont care who you are, they'll lie to get you in and you'll end up a cook or latrine digger.

sure you can! they have Ti's in the military that are 5'4.. wait but you are 230 lbs, woo you got to cut the weight. That would definitely be the problem. just loose at least 25 lbs a month. Go the gym, and run a lot. Eat less fatty foods. Eat more green vegetables.

You can join the Army. My advice to you would be lose some weight first. You will have to lose around 70 pounds to pass basic. That will mean extra physical training and special diet in training. You would also be your Drill Sergeants special project. You do not want to be that. Diet now and start to exercise, save yourself from the pain later.

Are you male or female? Either way you'd have to have a very thick neck.

My husband is 6'3 and 226 is the max he's allowed to be.

I'm 5'7 and my max was 158. If you're over your max, which you are at this point, you have to be measured.

I don't know if they go only by height/weight charts when you enlist. If they will tape you then you might have a chance, but probably not. I know someone who is 5'11" and weighs 210 and he always has to be taped because he's a few pounds over.

Not unless you are built like Mike Tyson! You would probably have to weigh about 160-170lbs for your height.

Once you lose some weight, sure. Or if you have a ton of muscle and low body fat percentage, you can get in now.
