I recently was told that we have asbestos in the tiles of our hallways. I read the leaflet we recieved about it and it said if we wish to get it removed it would be more riskful to us.
What should I do?

Moving asbestos is a very risky business. If you do have it in your house make sure it is safely sealed in and leave it alone.

If for any reason it becomes necessary to remove it seek professioal advice.

If you didn't ask for a house inspection, suspect a fraud. There have been a number of con artists going around trying to target people by telling them they need assorted house repairs when in fact they don't.

If the house was built at a time when asbestos were commonly used, consider this: As long as the asbestos are confined in the tiles, they are no threat to you. But if the tiles are breaking apart, you'll need a professional team to come in and remove them. And that will be expensive.

Whatever you do, don't let yourself be taken.

Good luck.
