It could be any number of things: Fear of death, desperation, utter credulousness, an inability or unwillingness to deal with the unknown and/or the unknowable without a hypothetical 'father figure', or it could be as simple as being taught to believe in it since early childhood by your entire local culture, schools, churches, parents etc. Sometimes all it takes is exposure to it without a balancing exposure to the other possibilities.

A good imagination and not minding change. And I am being serious..if you strictly believe everything it says in the Bible, you're screwed - details change in each chapter. However, what people should realize is that, whether or not God influenced the people who wrote the Bible, they were still people. And people like details, some of which aren't always correct - but it's easy to make that mistake when you're documenting God, I guess. Hard thing to know how to do.

Perspective, the Bible is a testimony from men of faith not science. The creation account teaches moral and spiritual principles not science. If understood correctly there's no conflict between God and Science. When such conflict occurs it is caused by ignorant men of God or arrogant men of science both showing how little they know. Do not look for evidence of God in math or science find it in your spirit. Realize reality is on several levels and you will find a bit of wisdom. I have no issue with God seeking Adam in the garden and the two million year old bones of Lucy our ancestor because I know they each describe a different aspect of life. Good luck finding the best perspective.

It Does take:

- Having a not enough logic mind and/or an "i take for granted what i like and deny what i don't" conception of reality.

- Fear of death or plain arrogance(it is not common to have both, but it could be).

I don't wanna make an extensive list no one is going to read; i think those are the most important things you need.

Have fun!

Faith, and a little word to

Jeff s...Honey, judging by the answers you give, you have no idea what BIBLICAL Christianity consists of...you're mentioning certain pagan practices in your response; and it shows your ignorance in the subject.

It takes an open heart and a prayer to GOD. You will get the guidance you seek as long as you ask. Thank you and may GOD come soon to right the wrongs that have been done on this earth.

Faith. of course not as much as it takes to believe the hundreds of coincidences that make up the big bang theory or evolution. Praise the LORD.

A complete abandonment of reason for one.

According to the founder of the protestant religion:
"Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed. Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding, and whatever it sees must be put out of sight and ... know nothing but the word of God." Martin Luther

"To be a Christian, you must pluck out the eye of reason." Martin Luther

"Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has: it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but--more frequently than not --struggles against the Divine Word...." Martin Luther

The ability to be spoonfed information without giving anything a second thought.

I saw a bumpersticker that summed it up:
"If I wanted to play follow the leader I'd be christian"

I dont care what belief system you have, thats funny!
