You want to do a variety of exercises and you've got a good start.

Here's a schedule:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Stretch for 15 minutes, Walk/jog 30 minutes

Tuesday: Thursday, Saturday: Stretch for 15 minutes, Push ups/sit ups - 3 sets (pick any number you can do 3 times)

Sunday: Stretch for 15 minutes: Walk/jog for 30 minutes and Push ups/sit ups - 3 sets (pick any number you can do 3 times)

Keep this schedule until it becomes easy, then add 5 minutes to the walk/job and 1 push up and/or sit up to your sets.

Otherwise, look to your diet, opting for multi-grain carbs, less soda, more water, lean meats, more vegs and fruits, etc. Sunday would be your splurge day. the day you can "cheat" and have something you'd normally not have. If it's part of your routine you don't have to worry about it as much.

Basically, you want to change your lifestyle, not just go on a diet. this way you'll see both immediate and longterm results and set immediate and longterm goals.

Good luck.

I was morbidly obese when I started training. I lost over 100lbs. I could do only 3 push ups embarrassing. As long as your asthma is under control try to work out 6 days out of 7. 20 min. cardio and 20 min anaerobic back to back at least and short break and some resistance training. If you find this too rigorous try walking for a couple hours at a leisurely pace each day.
Of course you will have had a check up and OK from a health pro. Without knowing you more specific advice is impossible.
Most gyms have a personal trainer on staff or one that you could consult. Don't let that deter you any work out is better than none.
The standard military calisthenics like Canadian Air force caustics are a good start. Try library or Google.
a good work CD "without" martial arts moves is help full.
CD's with martial arts moves are usually poorly done and could cause repetitive movement injury from poorly executed moves.
Keep faith in yourself and never give up.

Find Bas Rutten's Workout tapes.

If you have a punching bag it's like having your own personal trainer. There are tapes for boxing, thai-boxing, all-round workout, and all-round fighting. You can choose either 2 or 3 minute rounds.

Do a few of those a week and you'll be fit in no time.

And yeah, the obvious, keep a check on your diet.

I would invest in a jump rope...they are cheap and work wonders for your stamina in a short amount of time. Find out your limit and jump for that long for a couple of weeks. Don't get discouraged if you can only do it for a little while when you start....it takes some time. It's a very difficult workout, and even those who are in good shape start out in very short increments of time. Gradually add 30 seconds on, working your way up. Definitely take advantage of the bag set you have, too. Good luck!

Go to your local High School or Junior High School and jog / run around the track to warm up.
Then run up and down the "bleachers",the weight will start to fall off!

As always check with your family Doctor "Before" starting a work out system.
